Maryland arranges football home-and-home with Wisconsin

The Terrapins are planning well in advance and will face the Badgers twice in the distant future.

The Maryland Terrapins and Wisconsin Badgers agreed to a home-and-home deal to be played in 2020 and 2021 on Thursday. The series will begin in Madison, Wis., before switching to College Park, Md., the next year. The dates will be Saturday, Sep. 12 at Wisconsin and Saturday, Sep. 11 at Maryland, according to The Washington Times.

This is the first game on the schedule in those years for either team. The participants in the game are in middle and elementary school at this time, and seniors on the current squads will be turning 30.

The Terps are scheduled to play non-conference games against West Virginia in each of the next five seasons. They've also secured a home-and-home with the Texas Longhorns in 2017 and 2018. Before Thursday's agreement with Wisconsin, the most distant games Maryland had scheduled were against Bowling Green and UCF in 2019.

Maryland hopes some of the success from this season will still be around eight years from now. The Terrapins lead the ACC Atlantic division.
