The college football season is more than halfway over, and the BCS standings are starting to really heat up as a result.
On Saturday, many high ranked teams fell in upsets including the No. 2 Florida Gators, the USC Trojans and the 15th-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Jason Kirk has begun his bowl projections for the postseason, with a not-so-surprising championship game match-up between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon Ducks.
For years, Oregon has been one of the best teams in the country and yet they're without a BCS championship game appearance. The Ducks, led by head coach Chip Kelly, appear capable of running the table in the tough Pac-12.
On the local side of things, the Maryland Terrapins are slated for the Music City Bowl against the Ole Miss Rebels.
Virginia Tech squares off with Rutgers in the Belk Bowl while the Navy Midshipmen also made Kirk's projections and are in the Kraft Hunger Bowl versus the Utah State Aggies.
Meanwhile, Kirk has the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Kansas State Wildcats pitted against each other in a match of undefeated teams in the Fiesta Bowl.
A couple of the other projected marquee games are as follows:
Rose Bowl: Oregon State Beavers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Sugar Bowl: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Louisville Cardinals
Orange Bowl: Florida State Seminoles vs. Boise State Broncos
