The father of Andrew and Aaron Harrison, two highly-coveted basketball recruits from the Houston area, said Tuesday that "Maryland has come on strong." Aaron Harrison, Sr. made the statement to Eric Prisbell of USA Today shortly after a lunch meeting with Terps head coach Mark Turgeon.

Maryland and Kentucky are considered the two finalists for the twins, who are expected to stay in college for just one year before making the jump to the NBA. Their decision is scheduled to be announced Thursday, and the family has reiterated that both will be going to the same school in a package deal.

Turgeon and assistant coach Bino Ranson flew to Texas to make their final pitch to the family on Wednesday. Harrison, Sr. said the lunch went well, according to Prisbell. Turgeon's chances are buoyed by the Harrison family's strong relationship with Chris Hightower, an executive at Under Armour. But he's going up against the best recruiter in the country in Kentucky's John Calipari.

The announcement is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Thursday and will be televised on ESPNU.
