On the college football season's final weekend, the Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will battle for the ACC title in the 2012 ACC Championship Game from Charlotte, N.C.
Georgia Tech, despite a 6-6 record, finished as the top team in the ACC's Coastal Division with a 5-3 conference record, besting both the Miami Hurricanes and North Carolina Tar Heels for the division's berth in the title game.
The Seminoles finished as the top team in the Atlantic division and won a tiebreaker with the Clemson Tigers on the strength of a head-to-head victory over Clemson earlier this season. The Seminoles also bested the Maryland Terrapins, who finished with a 2-6 conference record, good enough for fifth in the division.
Both teams are coming off losses to in-state rivals, with Florida State suffering a tough defeat at the hands of the Florida Gators and Georgia Tech having been blown out by the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend.
