Ronald Darby Commits To Florida State Over Auburn, Notre Dame

Ronald Darby, a consensus four-star recruit, has committed to Florida State, announcing the news on television on National Signing Day 2012. Darby, who played for Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Md., chose the Seminoles over Auburn and Clemson. He originally committed to Notre Dame, but backed out of his commitment.

Darby had zeroed in on Florida State on National Signing Day after backing out of his Notre Dame commitment in early January. USC was also on his radar, and Maryland was a dark horse that faded from the picture.

Darby was the No. 6 defensive back in the Rivals rankings, trailing Shaq Thompson, Tracy Howard, Landon Collins, Alex Carter and Travis Blanks. He joins a Seminoles recruiting class that includes fellow local recruit Eddie Goldman, who committed to the Seminoles earlier in the day.
