D.J. Reader Picks Clemson Over Maryland On 2012 National Signing Day

One of the few remaining targets for the Marland Terrapins has decided to go elsewhere in college, lineman D.J. Reader will go to Clemson instead, coach Dabo Swinney confirmed on the ESPN National Signing Day 2012 special. Reader was considered a Maryland lean until recently, but flipped his recruitment within the last day according to reports.

Reader is an enormous three-star offensive guard/defensive tackle from Greensboro, North Carolina. The Terps would have likely used him on defense at nose tackle, which is a very important position for them as they move to the 3-4 under new defensive coordinator Brian Stewart. This would have been a very good get for them, but they only got on Reader late in the game so it is not surprising that they did not end up with him.
