National Signing Day 2012: Randy Edsall's Cliches Are No Good Here

Every year, coaches are interviewed about where their recruiting classes rank on National Signing Day, and every year, they say something about how the rankings don't mean anything and they love the work they did. Maryland football coach Randy Edsall is no exception. Here's his version of that cliche quote during his press conference just now.

Ah, but see, here's the problem with this...

Anyone remember the contract incentive specifics in new offensive coordinator/recruiting extraordinary Mike Locksley's contract? In case you don't, here they are.

Locksley will receive $25,000 if Maryland is in the top 40 of the Rivals.com or Scout.com rankings on signing day. He also will receive $20,000 if the Terps rank among the top four teams in the ACC on signing day.

So basically, the other evaluations should matter to Edsall and his staff. There's money on the line.
