Maryland Football Removes Restriction, Danny O'Brien Allowed Transfer To Vanderbilt

After much discussion in the National media, the Maryland Terrapins have elected to remove the restriction banning Danny O'Brien, among others, from transferring to Vanderbilt to play under James Franklin, according to Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun.

Maryland is lifting restrictions and telling departing quarterback Danny O'Brien, offensive lineman Max Garcia and linebacker Mario Rowson that they are free after all to transfer to Vanderbilt if they wish, according to a source. Terps coach Randy Edsall is meeting with the players this morning and informing them of the decision.

Coach Randy Edsall and the rest of the program had elected to block Danny O'Brien, Mario Rowson and Max Garcia from transferring to Vanderbilt because they felt that Franklin might have been tampering with the players in question. But it seems like they have backed off of that action once they've seen how much negative attention it has gotten.
