Maryland Basketball Recruiting: Terps Offer Romelo Trimble, According To Report

The Maryland Terrapins continued their aggressive recruiting of the Washington, D.C. metro area this week when they offered Bishop O'Connell prospect Romelo Trimble. The 2014 WCAC standout is a point guard prospect who has desired a shot to play for the local Terps. InsideMDSports reported the news of the offer, which was given on Monday (via Jeff Ermann):

Growing up in the shadows of College Park, Romelo Trimble always thought about playing for UMd., but he wasn't sure he'd have that opportunity. That changed Monday afternoon.

Trimble has received several Division I offers, including from Big East members Villanova and Rutgers. Locally, Paul Hewitt and the George Mason Patriots have also offered the O'Connell guard. Maryland is the most high-profile program to offer Trimble, and while he still has two high school seasons remaining, the Terps' local connections have to make them one of the favorites going forward.
