The Maryland Terrapins will host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday afternoon, as both teams open ACC play. Maryland sits at 12-1 after wrapping up their non-conference season, while Virginia Tech has started a surprising 9-4 on the year.
The Hokies won seven straight games to start the season, after being picked by many to finish dead last in the ACC. They've struggled lately though, and are coming off of back to back losses of 30 points or more against Colorado State and BYU. They've continued to shoot early and often, attempting 255 three pointers already despite making only 32.2% of them.
The Terps lost their season opener, but have run off 12 straight wins since losing to Kentucky. Seven footer Alex Len has been a pleasant surprise for the team this year, averaging 13.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in his sophomore season.
