Even with stars John Wall and JaVale Mcgee getting the night off, it took the Knicks more than four quarters to put away the Wizards.

Washington had four players with double digit point totals as the rest of the cast was given a chance to shine. Cartier Martin's 24 points led all scorers and Kevin Palmer added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.

The Wizards had the lead for much of the fourth quarter, but a turnover and foul in the final seconds allowed the Knicks to come back. A last second shot by Trevor Booker almost gave the Wizards the win at the end of overtime, but it dropped out.

The Wizards finished Summer League with a 4-1 record, tied for their best ever.

The Wizards close out their summer league play this afternoon against the New York Knicks today in Las Vegas. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and NBA TV.

With a win, the Wizards can finish undefeated in Vegas, but if they're going to do it, they'll have to do it without John Wall and JaVale McGee, who are sitting this one out. Both players have played outstanding over the last week and don't really have anything left to prove to team management, or the rest of the competition this week. Instead, the Wizards will trot out a lineup featuring Lester Hudson, Kevin Palmer, Cartier Martin, Trevor Booker and Hamady N'Diaye, according to Bullets Forever, who has a game thread up for all of today's action.

Though there will be no Wall or McGee, today's game represents the final chance to catch the Wizards in action until September, so if you have a chance, seize the opportunity to watch the Wizards one last time. The game starts at 4 p.m., which translates to a start time of 1 p.m. out in Vegas. If anyone was out partying last night, we should find out soon enough.

This John Wall kid is pretty good.

Another spectacular performance by the rookie point guard led the Wizards to their closest win yet.

This game may have come down to the wire, but it was no less impressive than any of the Wizards other three victories in Summer League play. Wall's 31 points led the way, with center JaVale McGee adding 29 points, 8 rebounds, and maybe the dunk of the summer.

The Wizards will likely start John Wall, Cartier Martin, Trevor Booker and JaVale McGee, and it is unclear who the fifth starter will be. The Hornets will likely counter with Aubrey Coleman, Maurice Ager, Quincy Pondexter, Craig Brackens and Brian Cusworth.

The Hornets are 0-3 in Summer League thus far, and are no longer playing with Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton, who were both given permission to leave the team to attend to other matters.

John Wall had his second career double double in summer league play as the Wizards defeated the Mavericks 88-82. Wall had 21 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds en route to the win.

Wall wasn't the team's leading scorer however, Cartier Martin held that distinction with 23 points. Javale McGee had another impressive showing scoring 18 points and connecting on some impressive alley-oops like this one:

After a two-day break, the Wizards will resume their Summer League schedule tonight against the Dallas Mavericks. The game will start at 8 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet and NBATV.

The Wizards will start John Wall, Lester Hudson, Cartier Martin, Trevor Booker and JaVale McGee. Four of those players started the first two games, and Hudson joins the lineup after an impressive performance off the bench against the Clippers. The Mavericks will likely counter with Rodrigue Beaubois, Dominique Jones, J.R. Giddens, Mouhammad Faye and Omar Samhan.

The key matchup is obviously Wall against Beaubois. As Ben Golliver notes on SBNation.com, Beaubois comes as close to matching Wall's physical gifts as anyone playing in the Summer League.

Two wins, two impresseive performances for the 19 year old Wizards rookie John Wall. Wall lead the Wizards to an 89-64 victory over the L.A. Clippers with a double double, 18 points and 10 assists, with 5 steals just for show. This is Wall's first double double for the team and many more should follow when the season gets underway.

Javale McGee also had a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds and Nick Young tied Wall in scoring output with 18 points of his own.

The highlight of the game from NBA.com is this below:

With 41 seconds left in the first quarter, John Wall was knocked to the ground while driving through the lane. He laid on the court for a few moments, not moving at all. Luckily for the Wizards, he got up, hit his free throws and appeared to be fine sitting on the Wizards bench soon thereafter.

According to Michael Lee:

John Wall is resting on the bench, looks fine now. But he told trainers during break that he felt a sharp pain in his neck on that landing.

It appeared to just be a close call as midway through the second quarter Wall was back in the lineup dropping buckets on the Clippers.

Overall, the team is looking solid with and John Wall leading the Wizards with 15 points, 5 assists and 3 steals and Nick Young contributing with 12 points.

At the half, the Wizards lead the Clippers 49-30.
