<p>Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Josh Thole's third home run of the year ended the game in the 10th inning, giving the Mets a 2-1 victory over the Nationals.</p>
<p>Hisanori Takahashi (10-6) threw two scoreless innings of relief to get the win behind Pat Misch, who tossed eight innings of three-hit ball, giving up one run on Mike Morse's homer in the seventh inning. The left-hander also finished with a career-high 10 strikeouts.</p>
<p>Ike Davis also homered for New York, which snapped a three-game slide.</p>
<p>Jordan Zimmermann gave up just three hits and a run over six frames for Washington, which has dropped three of four.</p>
<p>Tyler Clippard (11-7) entered in the ninth with a 16 2/3 consecutive inning scoreless streak and got one quick out before Thole turned on a 3-1 fastball and blasted it to right.</p>
<p>The dramatic win came on the same day it was reported that Mets general manager Omar Minaya and manager Jerry Manuel will not return to their roles with the team next season.</p>
<p>Davis jumped all over a first-pitch fastball in the fourth inning and sent it deep to right for his 19th home run of the season.</p>
<p>Misch set down 14 of 15 hitters before Morse managed to poke a 2-1 changeup over the center field wall in the seventh to tie the game.</p>

<p>Davis is two RBI shy of tying Darryl Strawberry's rookie club record of 74 set in 1983. He is also tied for second on the same list in home runs (Strawberry, 26)...The Mets did not record a hit between home runs...The season series is tied, 8-8.</p>

<p>(Sports Network) - Second-year righty Jordan Zimmerman opens the <a href="https://www.federalbaseball.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Washington Nationals</a>' final road series of the season tonight when they visit Citi Field for a three-game weekend set with the <a href="https://www.amazinavenue.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">New York Mets</a>.</p>
<p>Washington finished its home schedule with a loss to Philadelphia, but was 41-40 nonetheless on the season at Nationals Park.</p>
<p>Zimmerman was an 8-3 winner at home in his last start against Atlanta, scattering three hits and allowing a run in five innings. Last time on the road, he was touched for nine hits and five runs in three innings of a 5-2 loss.</p>
<p>He allowed three hits and an earned run against the Mets in a no-decision in Washington on Sept. 6, a game the Nationals won, 13-3.</p>
<p>For the Mets, 29-year-old lefty <span>Pat Misch</span> aims for his first win of 2010 in his sixth start.</p>
<p>The product of Western Michigan University was a loser in four straight starts between Aug. 14 and 30, then pitched from the bullpen for five straight appearances before a no-decision in a 7-3 defeat of the <a href="https://www.thegoodphight.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Phillies</a> on Sept. 26.</p>
<p>Misch pitched a third of an inning against the Nationals on Sept. 6 and allowed no baserunners.</p>
<p>He is 0-1 lifetime against them with a 5.87 ERA in 7 2/3 innings.</p>
<p>On Thursday in New York, <span>Chris Narveson</span> struck out nine batters over 6 2/3 innings and the <a href="https://www.brewcrewball.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Brewers</a> took advantage of a <span>Jose Reyes</span> error in the fifth inning to post a 9-2 victory over the Mets to conclude a four-game series.</p>
<p><span>Dillon Gee</span> (2-2) was charged with seven hits and four runs -- two earned -- over six frames.</p>
<p>On Wednesday in Washington, <span>Ben Francisco</span> hit two of Philadelphia's four home runs and <span>Joe Blanton</span> was sharp for seven innings in a 7-1 victory over Washington in the rubber game of a three-game set.</p>
<p><span>Ross Detwiler</span> (1-3) was saddled with the loss after allowing all seven runs on seven hits, including all four long balls, and a pair of walks while fanning two for the Nationals.</p>
<p>Washington is 8-7 against the Mets this season.</p>
