The Washington Redskins made waves locally when 30 players decided to come together to hold their own minicamp of sorts to account for their inability to practice with their coaches during the ongoing NFL lockout. It was a nice story and it spurred a lot of reaction indicating the team was in the midst of a culture change. But how much does it really matter? Are we giving it a little too much credit?

That's the question Scott Jackson and Mike Prada discussed in this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan. We also talk to our Adam Vingan about Wednesday night's crazy Capitals win to take a 3-1 lead over the Rangers in their first-round 2011 NHL Playoffs series. What happened to allow the Capitals to win that game? We also discuss the Wizards' lack of draft options with our Michael Katz and shoot the breeze about the 2011 NFL Draft with our Daniel Shiferaw.

The Washington Capitals are once again the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, after a long and well-publicized rebuilding effort centered around young talent. Whether they have postseason success or not, it's clear their rebuilding effort was successful. Two other teams in town -- the Wizards and the Nationals -- are arguably in the early stages of similar rebuilding effort. Will they also be successful?

That's the question Scott Jackson and Mike Prada discuss in this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan. What is the glass half-full outlook for both teams? Which one is closer to getting to where the Capitals are right now?

The Washington Wizards won three games in a row for the first time in three years, and they are finishing the season strong. But what does that finish mean? Does it mean that Ernie Grunfeld and Flip Saunders should be allowed to keep their jobs? Does it mean the Wizards do indeed have a "new Big Three," like owner Ted Leonsis blogged this week?

We discuss that question and more in this week's episode of "SB Nation Radio" on 106.7 The Fan. Scott Jackson and Mike Prada also discuss the Gary Williams/Debbie Yow feud, why Yow may have been motivated to speak out and whether there might have been anything Williams actually did.
The NFL lockout continues to drag on, and there are many big issues the league is facing. What will happen with the 2011 NFL Draft? What will the players do while the league and the NFLPA continue to battle? All these and more are questions the Redskins will face all winter.

In this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan, we got some answers from Redskins wide receiver Anthony Armstrong. Armstrong was kind enough to join Scott Jackson and Othello Bouchareb this week to talk about his thoughts on the dispute, his and his teams' plans during the NFL lockout, his breakout 2010 season, his experience in the Intense Football League, his thoughts on the potential of rookies skipping the 2011 NFL Draft, who he thinks the team should pick and his ongoing dispute with Brandon Banks over which player is faster.

Scott and Othello also discussed the Wizards-Heat fight on Wednesday, talked NFL Draft with Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan and dissected the Nationals with MLB.com's Bill Ladson.
As we continue to evaluate the Wizards' draft prospects in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, one man has risen above all the others. Derrick Williams made his case to be a Wizards cornerstone the other night, dominating Duke for 32 points and 13 rebounds in a shocking 93-77 Sweet 16 win for Arizona. Is he now the number one prospect in the NBA Draft? Scott Jackson and Mike Prada discussed that topic in this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan.

Also, which local team is best equipped to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament next season? Is it Maryland? George Mason? Georgetown, even with its heavy graduation losses? We discussed that topic in our second segment. We also talked to Byron Kerr of MASNSports.com about the Nationals as Opening Day nears and our own Adam Vingan about Alex Ovechkin's injury, Mike Green's troubles and the team in general as it pushes for the postseason.
The 2011 NCAA Tournament is going on, and many local teams are trying to make surprise runs. But the NCAA Tournament is also important for another local team that isn't even participating. Yes, Wizards fans should be keeping an eye on the action outside of all the local squads. The Wizards are expected to get another high draft pick, and many of the projected top picks are playing in the NCAA Tournament.

In this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan, Scott Jackson and Mike Prada discuss which player the Wizards should draft. Scott is a big fan of Harrison Barnes of North Carolina, while Mike talked up Ohio State's Jared Sullinger. It will not be an easy choice, and it's a topic worth considering as the NCAA Tournament moves forward.

We also talk about Maryland's big recruiting week with Eric Prisbell of the Washington Post, check in on Nationals spring training with Ben Goessling of MASNSports.com and discuss the on-court Wizards product as it relates to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 2011 NCAA Tournament begins soon, and there are a number of local teams that should get bids. Most notably, George Mason and Georgetown are safely in the field, and semi-local teams like Virginia Tech, Old Dominion and RIchmond should be in as well. But it's also been a downer for local hoops recently, with Georgetown faltering due to Chris Wright's injury and George Mason falling in the semifinals of the CAA Tournament.

Looking back, will we say that this was a "successful" year for Washington D.C. college basketball? That's the question Mike Prada and Scott Jackson discuss in this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan.

We also talk to Tarik El-Bashir, the Georgetown beat writer for the Washington Post, about the Hoyas' recent struggles, the Wright injury and their potential NCAA seed. Why has Wright's injury caused the Hoyas to fall off so bad? Will next year be painful for Hoyas fans? We discuss those questions and more.

We also talk to T.J.
It was the end of an era in Washington D.C., as the Redskins released three players that were mainstays over the past few years. Andre Carter and Derrick Dockery didn't have a ton of staying power, but the move to let Clinton Portis go, while not surprising, still marks the end of one of the more memorable careers in recent D.C. sports history.

In that light, we discuss Clinton Portis' legacy in Washington D.C. in this week's episode of SB Nation Radio on 106.7 The Fan. Scott Jackson and Mike Prada bring in Jack Anderson of SB Nation D.C. to add to the discussion after he wrote this piece on Portis. Would Portis be remembered more fondly if there was more stability in the organization? We discuss that issue and more this week.

We also discuss the Redskins' signing of O.J.
