A championship win in the 2010 Charleston Classic shouldn't fully erase the disappointment of Georgetown's early exit from the NCAA Tournament last spring, but it's certainly a start.

The young Hoyas team dominated the second half of this game en route to an 82-67 victory over N.C. State. The Hoyas had four players in double figures, including 18 points and nine rebounds for Hollis Thompson, 17 points and seven assists for Chris Wright, 15 points for Austin Freeman, and 14 points for Jason Clark.

After a tie score at halftime, the N.C. State Wolfpack were no match for the Big East favorite. According to AP writer Pete Iacobelli, Georgetown's run started early in the second half, and the team didn't look back.

Trailing 44-42, Big East preseason player of the year Austin Freeman started Georgetown’s surge with a one-handed power jam. Henry Sims followed with a bucket to give the Hoyas the lead for good. Wright hit a jumper and Thompson and Jason Clark connected on 3-pointers to put the Hoyas ahead 57-44.

The Hoyas will take a deserved break following their big win. Georgetown will return to action next Saturday against N.C. Asheville.

The Georgetown Hoyas enter this game ranked No. 20 in the nation, but they could leave it ranked No. 1 in Charleston.

Just two days after the Hoyas dominated the Wofford Terriers in the semi-final match, they have reached the Final, where they'll take on ACC foe NC State. The Woflpack defeated George Mason in a close contest on Friday to reach the Championship game.

Wolfpack coach Sidney Lowe gives us a preview of the Hoyas on Yahoo! from his team's perspective.

"They are a very good team, with great players," Lowe said. "They are experienced, and play with great composure. It will be a great test for us, but that is what we are here for. We are here to play against the best, and that will be the case on Sunday."

The two teams are all tied up after an exhilirating and high-scoring first half. Hollis Thompson of the Hoyas leads all scorers with nine points following a first half played evenly between the two young teams.

We could be in for a good finish in Charleston as both teams surely want to return home bearing a trophy.
