Aaron Rodgers is your Super Bowl MVP. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has officially emerged from the shadow of Brett Favre, as he led his Packers to a 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is not surprising that Rodgers would win the MVP, since his team won, but he was also a very deserving winner.

Rogers threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns in the game, two of which went to wide receiver Greg Jennings. He joins Bart Starr (Super Bowls I and III) and Desmond Howard (Super Bowl XXXI) as Green Bay Packers who have won Super Bowl MVP. He completed 24 of 39 passes and did not throw an interception, but those numbers could have been even better had he not been the victim of several drops by his wide receivers.

Most of Rodgers' yards went to Jordy Nelson, who caught nine passes for 148 yards and a touchdown despite dropping several balls. Jennings had four catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns to supplement the effort.

Rogers' Super Bowl MVP means he can officially join Starr and Favre in the pantheon of great Packers quarterbacks.

As Joe Buck said, "the Lombardi Trophy is coming home."

After making the NFL Playoffs on the final game of the season as the sixth seed in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers have won Super Bowl XLV by a final score of 31-25.

After a penalty plagued and mistake prone third quarter, the Packers got off on the right foot on the first play of the final quarter. Clay Matthews put a solid hit on Rashard Mendenhall to force a fumble, which would be recovered by Desmond Bishop.

Green Bay took advantage of the turnover, as they have all game. Aaron Rodgers dropped back for eight straight pass attempts, and hit Greg Jennings for an eight-yard touchdown pass to cap off the drive. It was the second time the two connected in the end zone today.

PIttsburgh responded though on the next possession. Despite finding success with their rushing attack earlier in the game, Ben Roethlisberger threw a pass on every play of the drive, and hit Mike Wallace in stride on a perfect 25-yard strike. Antwaan Randle El scored a two-point conversion to narrow the Packers' lead to three.

Mason Crosby added a field goal for Green Bay with just over two minutes following a big 31-yard reception for Greg Jennings on third down, and they never looked back from there. The Packers would stop the Steelers where the Arizona Cardinals couldn't two years ago. On the final drive of the game, Green Bay didn't concede. They shut down the Steelers, and they are now World Champions.

Every break has gone the way of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third quarter of Super Bowl XLV. With two key members of the Green Bay secondary, Charles Woodson and Sam Shields, remaining on the sidelines, the Steelers went to work. Although they weren't targeting the secondary as much as you might expect.

The Steelers ran the ball five straight times, including one run from Ben Roethlisberger and two from Isaac Redman before Rashard Mendenhall ran the ball into the end zone from 17-yards out.

This all came after the Packers made numerous mistakes on their opening drive of the half. The Packers had two penalties called against them on offense, saw James Jones drop a perfect pass from Aaron Rodgers that could have led to a long completion, and then were called for a facemask penalty on punt coverage, which looked to be a bad call upon television replay.

The game slowed down a bit after the touchdown. Shaun Suisham missed a field goal wide left, and the Packers just couldn't get anything going offensively. On a long third down conversion attempt, wide receiver Brett Swain could not hang onto the ball as cornerback William Gay knocked the ball loose.

The Green Bay Packers increased their lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second quarter of Super Bowl 45, but a late half strike by the Steelers pulled the AFC Champions within two scores.

Pittsburgh got on the board early in the quarter with a Shaun Suisham field goal, but interceptions continue to haunt Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers, as two of the Packers' three thouchdowns have now come off interceptions. Jarrett Bush's interception in the second quarter led to a four-play 53-yard drive by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, capped off by a 21-yard pass down the middle of the field to Greg Jennings.

A developing headline towards the end of the first half is the troubling injuries to members of Green Bay's secondary. Sam Shields appeared to injure his left arm in making a tackle on a . Charles Woodson injured on his left arm on the very next play in defense of a long pass to Mike Wallace. Woodson returned to the field for a few plays following a timeout, but both players would ultimately enter the locker room for treatment.

Pittsburgh took advantage of the injuries, and with the two-minute offense deployed, Roethlisberger connected with Hines Ward for the team's first touchdown of the game. The score came on what looked like a somewhat broken and improvised play. While under pressure, Roethlisberger tossed the ball to Ward who had beaten his defender in the back corner of the end zone. Following the touchdown, Green Bay safety Nick Collins joined his two secondary teammates in the locker room, with an apparent unknown injury.

They may have had some early butterflies as Super Bowl 2011 got underway at Cowboys Stadium, but the Green Bay Packers have looked better offensively and have an early 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Mistakes from Tramon Williams and Jordy Nelson early in the game could have been very costly for the Packers. Williams fumbled the game's first punt and Nelson allowed a deep pass from Aaron Rodgers to go right through his fingertips.

But the Pittsburgh Steelers failed to capitalize, and although they moved the ball effectively on the ground, they have not yet found their way onto the scoreboard. Meanwhile, it didn't take long for Nelson to make up for his earlier mistake. He caught a perfect 29-yard pass on a third down for the Packers to score the first touchdown of the game.

On the very next play from scrimmage, Green Bay was able to extend its lead. Packers defensive lineman Howard Green beat Steelers guard Chris Kemoeatu to limit Ben Roethlisberger's ability to complete his throwing motion. The ball failed to reach Roethlisberger's intended deep target Mike Wallace, and instead went straight into the arms of safety Nick Collins. Collins evaded every tackler in front of him on the return and leaped into the end zone to give the Packers a somewhat surprising 14-0 lead.
