After leading much of the game, the Navy Midshipmen couldn't hold off the Rutgers offense, allowing 14 unanswered points that allowed Rutgers to take the lead the would ultimately hold on to. Kriss Proctor ended the game on a sack and also threw two interceptions, but ultimately Navy's inability to score touchdowns lost the game. Rutgers held the Midshipmen to only 169 yards on the ground.

Navy on the other hand couldn't hold back Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova, who completed 23 of 31 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were in the second half, including the go ahead score. Rutgers running back Jawan Jamison also had a nice say, rushing for over 100 yards and keeping the Navy defense off balance. Rutgers improves to 5-1 on the season while Navy falls to 2-4.

The Navy Midshipman left halftime with a 14-7 lead over Rutgers and added to that lead early with a field goal to push it to 17-7. Rutgers came storming back however, to take the lead scoring 14 unanswered points. Led by the arm of quarterback Gary Nova, Rutgers marched down the field to score.

Rutgers first scoring drive was capped off by a 10-yard touchdown pass from Nova to Quron Pratt to end a 6-play 52-yard drive. Early in the fourth quarter, Rutgers once again scored on a Gary Nova pass, this time hitting Tim Wright for 20 yards and the score to take the lead 21-17. Navy can kill clock with their triple option, but they're going to need to start scoring touchdowns to cap off their long time consuming drives.

Rutgers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over the Navy Midshipmen after missing a field goal and losing a fumble to Navy. Rutgers capped off their 6-play 40-yard scoring drive with a 1-yard touchdown run by Jawan Jamison. After Navy answered with a long drive that ended in a turnover on downs, Chris Ferguson picked off Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova for a 16-yard touchdown return.

After Navy tied up the game 7-7, they went to their triple option offense and began to grind out yards and clock. Navy took the lead however on a drive that consisted of just two plays that went 68 yards. Kriss Proctor ran the ball 54-yards for the go-ahead touchdown to take the lead 14-7.
