National Signing Day isn't typically a very exciting time of year for Virginia Cavalier fans, but thanks to Mike London and the rest of his staff, the Cavaliers are starting to get some national attention in recruiting. The Cavaliers had a second-straight strong class, one which nearly ranked in the top-25 Nation-wide.

The guys over at Scout have the 26 commitments the Cavaliers received ranked as the 28th best class in the Nation. Rivals has Virginia ranked as the fourth best recruiting class in the ACC for 2012. The gem of this class is Eli Harold, a five-star on Scout and a four-star on Rivals, that helps bring this class up a few rankings.

For the second-consecutive year, the Virginia Cavaliers have given the Virginia Tech Hokies a run for their money in the recruiting game, especially when it comes to in-state recruits.

The Cavaliers have commitments from 13 in-state players, including 10 from southeastern Virginia, compared to Tech's 15 in-state commitments.

There are still a few key in-state recruits up for grabs, including Clover Hill's Joel Caleb, who is choosing between UVA, VT and Ohio State. He is considered one of the top recruits in the Richmond area.

Some of the other major gets include Virginia Beach Ocean Lakes DE Eli Harold, Clifton Centreville DE Ken Ekenem and Norfolk Christian Academy LB Kwontie Moore. Defensively, the Hoos are building a solid foundation.

Virginia Tech might rank higher than Virginia in recruiting this year, but the two programs have managed to basically shut down the state from outsiders. It's officially an even race for recruits and it's only going to get more heated.

Virginia is expected to pull in a solid recruiting class on National Signing Day.

After several years of being an ACC dormant, Virginia football started to turn it around last season under Mike London, going 8-4 in the regular season and earning a berth in the Chick Fil-A Bowl. Now, the Cavaliers are expected to continue to move in the right direction, as they are projected to pull down a top-30 recruiting class in the country by the end of National Signing Day 2012.

As SB Nation's Virginia blog Streaking the Lawn notes, the Cavaliers' class is impressive, led by a trio of players that share the same last name.

Anybody who has been a Virginia football fan for a while knows the significance of the name Moore. When Virginia football was putting itself on the map, the QB-WR combination of Shawn Moore and Herman Moore was leading the way. With the 2012 recruiting class, the Hoos have a new Moore combination to look forward to, this time on defense. DE Michael Moore and LB Kowntie Moore lead a class that most rank among the nation's top 30. A third Moore, CB C.J., is also joining the Hoos.
