Despite what Semyon Varlamov said about dressing as the backup goalie for tonight's game against the Islanders, it appears as though he isn't all the way back from the injury which has sidelined him for the beginning of the season. According to Katie Carerra of the Caps Insider at the Washington Post, Coach Bruce Boudreau has said Varlamov probably won't be playing until this weekend.
"He'll be probably in the lineup on Saturday. That's my guess right now," Boudreau said, referring to the Capitals' next game at Nashville following the conclusion of this three-game home stand.
Looks like Coach Boudreau just wants to give that injury a little bit more time to heal while the stakes of the games they are playing are so low.
