Capitals Injuries: Marcus Johansson Out, Mike Green In, John Carlson A Maybe

New, 2 comments

We aren't that far into the NHL season and the Capitals are already suffering from their fair share of injuries. As the Caps prepare to go on a three game road trip, the status of some of their players remains up in the air. We have a pair of updates from the Katie Carrera about who will be eligible, and who won't be able to go, when the Caps play the Hurricanes tonight.

First, on the promising young center Marcus Johansson.

Per Boudreau: Marcus Johansson, who is riding the bike and not skating this am, is out for tonight's game vs Canes.

Next, on some of the Capitals other pieces.

Also from Boudreau: Bradley and Green will play, Carlson is a maybe and Gordon an I don't know.

It will be very good for the Capitals to get Mike Green back into the lineup, but as is usually the case with a sport this violent, his return is coupled by other players not being available.

UPDATE: More on the availability of Mike Green from Corey Masisak.

Mike Green says he's going to at least start out the game playing in all situations for the Caps. Says it feels a lot better.

So we'll have to wait until game time to know just how much Mike Green is going to play. But he will be back out on the ice.
