'SB Nation Radio,' Episode 4: Is Albert Haynesworth A Force Again? Can Maryland Go To A Bowl Game?

New, 2 comments

In this week's episode of "SB Nation Radio," on 106.7 The Fan, Scott Jackson and Mike Prada hit at a number of big D.C. sports topics during a busy week of action. The big story, of course, is the Redskins as they prepare for a classic trap game against the Detroit Lions, but we also talked about the Wizards' dreadful debut, the Capitals' uneven play and Maryland football's chances of making a bowl game and a dent in the ACC. You can check out each segment by clicking on the audio plug-ins below.

SEGMENT 1: Mike and Scott run down the biggest stories of the week. What do we make of Jim Haslett admitting that having Albert Haynesworth play in a 3-4 defense is like "getting a square peg in a round hole?" Is there reason to be concerned about Donovan McNabb's struggles at quarterback? We also talk about the Wizards' dreadful debut against the Orlando Magic.

Listen to Segment 1 here.

SEGMENT 2: Mike and Scott talk to SB Nation D.C.'s Justin Creech about the Washington Capitals' struggles. Is there reason to be concerned that they still don't always put together 60-minute efforts? Is Michal Neuvirth the starting goalie for good, or will Bruce Boudreau's "hot goalie" philosophy come into play again? Just how well is Alex Ovechkin really playing?

Listen to Segment 2 here.

SEGMENT 3: Mike and Scott talk to Eric Prisbell of the Washington Post about the state of the Maryland football team now. They are just one win away from becoming bowl-eligible, but is this a team that can really push the upper echelon of the ACC? We also talk about the Pete DeSouza cartoon fiasco in the Diamondback and touch on the significance of the basketball team landing top recruit Nick Faust.

Listen to Segment 3 here.

SEGMENT 4: Mike and Scott go "behind enemy lines" to talk to Sean Yuille of SB Nation Detroit and SB Nation's Detroit Lions blog Pride of Detroit. Hear why Sean thinks the Lions are the best 1-5 team in NFL history and why he still thinks the Redskins will win on Sunday.
