It looks like Semyon Varlamov will miss at least some games. The Capitals have just placed him on injured reserve, according to CSN's Corey Masisak.
Varlamov has been placed retroactive to September 22, which means he's eligible to return at any time. It seems like the Capitals made the move in order to make room for Dany Sabourin on the roster. The Capitals need Sabourin for now to back up Michal Neuvirth until Varlamov comes back. Placing Varlamov on injured reserve is the only way they could have made it happen.
