The Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito fight last night was decent. But those two have got nothing on the heavyweights that play for the Capitals and Thrashers.
John Erskine and Eric Boulton dropped gloves in Washington's 6-4 victory tonight, and it was an instant classic.
If you look closely, you can see that Erskine is actually smiling as he throws punches to Boulton's head. This wasn't even Erskine's best play of the game though. The big defenseman also earned the game-winner.
This was probably the best fight NHL in 2010, and also probably the best fight involving a Capitals player in years. But it isn't the first time that Erskine and Boulton met in a fight. Two years ago they dropped gloves in Atlanta. That fight lasted only a few seconds as Erskine was quick to take Boulton down to the ice and finish him off.
Boulton must have come into this game looking for revenge. I'm not sure if he really got it, as the fight was about even, but he sure did a great job of providing some quality entertainment.
