Capitals Vs. Rangers: Ryan Callahan Scores Two More To Give New York 7-0 Win

The Rangers scored seven goals on just 20 shots, including two more tallies in the third period to destroy the Capitals for a 7-0 win. It was not a good night for Semyon Varlamov, or Bruce Boudreau, or any individual associated with the Washington organization.

Ryan Callahan scored two goals in the final period to clinch the victory for New York and ensure that the Capitals would leave Madison Square Garden completely embarassed.

Also in the period, a shot from Alexander Semin hit Alex Ovechkin's right knee and the forward was slow to return to the bench. As might be expected, the New York crowd cheered. It pretty much summed up the night for the Capitals.

The game included 19 penalities, three fights, and ejections to Jason Chimera and Brandon Prust. The good news for Washington is that the team has only one game in the next six days. They face Anaheim at home on Wednesday before traveling to Boston to face the Bruins on Saturday.
