Capitals Vs. Bruins: Caps Show Some Life, But Still Trail Bruins 3-1 After Second Period

For the first half of the second period, it looked like the Capitals of old had resurfaced, but then the Bruins clamped down and kept the Caps at bay as they hold a 3-1 win after the second period.

Matt Bradley brought some life to the Capitals at 2:18 after solid forechecking in the offensive zone. David Steckel found Bradley cutting through the slot, who then fired a tough angle shot that fooled Tim Thomas.

Washington kept up the pressure on Thomas and had several great chances, including on a miscue from Thomas himself, but the cagey goaltender found a way to stop every shot that came his way.

Michal Neuvirth had an injury scare late in the period after making a huge save. Neuvirth struggled to get up as he literally crawled through the crease looking to regain his balance. After a quick check-up from the trainers, Neuvirth was able to stand up and continue playing.
