Blackhawks Vs. Capitals: Chicago Catches Up On Shots, But Not On Scoreboard As Caps Lead 2-1

The Washington Capitals dominated the flow of the first period and held a 2-1 advantage. The Chicago Blackhawks returned the favor in the second period, but the score still remains 2-1 after two periods.

After being outshot 15-7 in the first period, the Blackhawks had 12 shots to the Caps' nine. Chicago had several scoring chances, but Michal Neuvirth made 12 saves to keep Washington in the lead. Shots are 24-19 in favor of Washington. The Caps also killed off two penalties in the period.
