VIDEO: Alex Ovechkin's Second Goal Vs. Philadelphia Flyers Looked Familiar

Alex Ovechkin had been off to a slow start this season, but all that changed on Thursday. In a pivotal early-season test against the Philadelphia Flyers, Ovechkin scored twice to lead the Capitals to a 5-1 win on the road. Both of those goals were impressive, but there was something vintage about Ovi's second one, a one-timer on the power play that zipped past goalie Ilya Bryzgalo in the third period.

Or ... was there? Adam Vingan, writing on Kings of Leonsis, saw it as grittier than first anticipated.

Ovechkin’s second goal could be classified as "Vintage Ovi," but before cutting to the high slot for the power play goal, he was facing away from the net as a screen.

"Vintage Ovi" or not, the goal was very impressive. Video below the jump.
