Mike Green Injury Update: Washington Capitals' Defensemen Unlikely To Play Vs. Edmonton

Washington Capitals defensemen Mike Green made an effort to get back into the lineup after suffering an ankle injury against the Detroit Red Wings, but it looks like his return will have to wait. Green did not practice one day before Washington's next game against the Edmonton Oilers, and coach Bruce Boudreau indicated that he probably won't play on Thursday.

Boudreau said it's "not looking good" for Mike Green to play tomorrow vs. Oilers.

Green suffered the injury when he was struck with a puck when the Red Wings were trying to enter the offensive zone. His head is OK, but his ankle was not. He traveled with the team to Alberta, but with him not practicing, it looks like he won't return until Saturday's game at Vancouver at the earliest.
