Alexander Semin Will Return From Injury Against San Jose

The Washington Capitals look like they will have the services of Alexander Semin for the first time in a month. The winger participated in the morning skate Tuesday and looks like he will return for the team's game against the San Jose Sharks. Via Sky Kerstein of 106.7 The Fan:

#Caps Semin is off the ice with the guys who are playing, looks like he's back

His replacement on the roster, Jay Beagle, was reportedly packing his bags after practice, indicating he is possibly on his way back to the team's AHL affiliate in Hershey. That would clear up the roster spot for Semin to make his return.

Semin has been out of action since January 8 due to a groin injury. He has only played in 39 games this season, and struggled after getting off to a hot start. He has 18 goals and 35 points on the season, but hasn't scored since November 28.

UPDATE: Bruce Boudreau has confirmed that Semin will play, saying he was hurt for the three weeks prior to being shut down on January 8.
