The name "Matt Cooke" has become a four-letter word in Washington D.C., after the Capital-turned-Penguin clipped Alex Ovechkin in the knee on Sunday in what was clearly a dirty play. At least we now know that we're not alone in facing Cooke's wrath. Last night, Cooke snuck up behind Fedor Tyutin of the Columbus Blue Jackets and delivered this hit.

Yeah, that's not OK. Now, there's talk of the league suspending Cooke. Via SBNation.com, Jeremy Roenick called Cooke "chicken s***" on XM Radio this morning, an opinion I'm sure most Caps fans love to hear. Hilariously, and clumsily, Cooke's coach Dan Bylsma continues to defend his actions, saying that it was Tyutin's fault for turning his back to Cooke once he saw it coming.
↵↵↵↵↵"The player looked him right in the eyes and knows he's coming -- he makes sure that he keeps his numbers towards him."

In other words, it's the "she was asking for it" defense. Puh-leez.
↵UPDATE: Cook will be suspended for four games, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.
