Blackhawks Vs. Capitals: Mike Knuble Scores In Overtime To Give Caps 4-3 Win

The Washington Capitals have won their eighth straight game, in dramatic fashion once again. Mike Knuble stuffed home a goal in front of the net with 1:09 remaining in overtime to give the Capitals a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the Verizon Center.

Knuble parked himself in front of goalie Chris Crawford and eventually received a beautiful pass from Marcus Johansson. Knuble turned, shielded the goalie and slipped the backhand by Crawford to give the Capitals the win.

Chicago had tied the score at 3 with just 39 seconds remaining when Duncan Keith slammed a shot off the back boards that was retrieved and put in by Jonathan Toews. Both teams had their chances in overtime, but the Capitals scored first.

The win was the Capitals' seventh one-goal or shootout victory in their last eight games, which could indicate two things. Either the Capitals have learned how to play close games, or they are just getting a little lucky after being unlucky earlier in the season. Regardless, this was a big, big win.
