The first-place Washington Capitals (believe it or not, it's true) have a huge game tonight against Southeast Division rivals Tampa Bay in Florida. The two teams are fighting for the top spot in the Southeast, with the Lightning assuming the upstart role given their surprising success this season.
↵It's about time the two teams really start to develop a rivalry of sorts. Thankfully, Bruce Boudreau is here to get that going. The Capitals coach accused Tampa Bay star Steven Stamkos and teammate Steve Downie of deliberately taking dives on the ice. Via Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune.
↵↵↵↵↵"With Steve Downie, if I were a referee I would never give a call when he's out on the ice," Boudreau said. "Stamkos, he dives every two seconds. Downie, he dives every two seconds, so you see that and you start to get a little hatred on."

↵For the record, Boudreau probably does not think that Stamkos and Downie literally dive every two seconds. That would be pretty hilarious if true.
