Since we wrote about how Clinton Portis once wore a Philadelphia Phillies hat during an interview, we must also write about how Nicklas Backstrom is donning an Atlanta Braves hat during his exit interview with Mike Vogel of WashingtonCapitals.com. For consistency's sake, y'know.

↵

As for the actual content of the interview, which was conducted on May 5, but posted Tuesday, Backstrom seemed completely devastated by the Capitals' playoff loss and was mumbling all his answers. He said the team had to be "more committed and doing things together," and referenced the season's poor ending even as Vogel tried to steer him towards more positive topics. He was also asked about being on HBO 24/7 and the experience of having cameras on him and the rest of the team throughout the month.

"There were cameras everywhere for a month and stuff like that, and you're not used to that," Backstrom said. "Our losing streak during the HBO I think was in part because of the cameras around there while we try to do some things different than what we used to."
