Troy Brouwer, who the Washington Capitals acquired in a draft-day trade this offseason, recently told Mike Vogel about the day he spent with the Stanley Cup after winning an NHL title with the Chicago Blackhawks.

“After that I took it to the hospital that my dad was staying in for his rehab after he had his stroke during the playoffs. I was able to share it with the doctors and the nurses and the patients there as a little bit of a thank you for everything they’ve done for him and to try and pick up the spirits of everyone who was in the hospital.

After that he took it around town to show some deserving locals at a fire station and youth hockey rink. Seems like the Caps acquired, if nothing else, a pretty nice guy.
