John Walton, the longtime radio voice of the Hershey Bears, has been hired as the Capitals' new "director of radio broadcasting," according to Mike Vogel. That means he'll take over the radio play-by-play duties from Steve Kolbe, who was let go earlier in the summer.
↵Kolbe, according to Sky Kerstein of 106.7 The Fan, didn't even get an interview for the position and hasn't heard from the team. That seems a bit harsh if true.
