It's kind of rainy and kind of overcast, the perfect day to camp out on the couch and watch sports. There are plenty of options from college football to hockey. The Nationals are even playing their own version of post season baseball.
College Football:
Maryland kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with an important game against Temple. The game will be on WDCA-20 in the D.C. area and WJZ-13 in Baltimore. Temple gave Penn State a tight game last weekend so the Maryland squad better not come out wit a West Virginia hangover.
More after the jump...
MLB Baseball:
The Nationals have an early start with Chien-Ming Wang taking the mound to face the Braves at 1:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on MASN and on the radio at 106.7 The Fan. The Braves are in a tight battle for the National League Wild Card and the Nats will do what they can to keep Atlanta out of the postseason. Brandon Beachy will pitch for the Braves.
NHL Hockey:
CSN Washington will live stream the action from the Caps Convention starting at 2 p.m. The event will include appearances from Washington Capitals players and alumni. If Al Iafrate is there, somebody get me an autograph.
MLS Soccer:
D.C. United, fighting for a playoff berth, will host Real Salt Lake tonight at RFK Stadium. The action starts at 7:30 p.m. United sits within one point of the final wild card playoff spot, though Real comes in hot, having won five in a row. The game is available on MLS MatchDay Live.
