Mike Green Injury: Washington Capitals' Defensemen's Injury A Painful One

Mike Green's abdominal injury will sideline him for 4-6 weeks, and Washington Capitals general manager George McPhee indicated Monday that there is more to the injury. That's a point of view echoed by CSN Washington Capitals analyst Alan Man when asked about the injury on Monday.

"It's one of those things where there's no exact science about it," May said. "People don't realize that when people have groin or abdominal issues, they may say they're at 90 percent, but they're really operating at about 50 percent. It's just such a tough muscle. Skating is an unnatural movement, and having an injury right there makes such an unnatural movement even more difficult."

May also seemed to indicate the recovery time would be closer to six weeks than four, which would put Green out until the end of February. Here's the video.
