The Washington Capitals' struggles continued with a 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night, providing even more evidence that they may just indeed be doomed. We could talk about these things, or, we could talk about Tomas Vokoun's brilliant save on Vincent Levacalier.
Easy choice.
That save, right there? That's a save of the year candidate. Granted, Lecavalier could have easily deposited the goal if he just got more on the puck, but LA LA LA LA LA LA I can't hear you LA LA LA LA LA. Save of the year candidate. Book it.
All the more reason to bestow "Save of the Year" status on the play: Lecavalier's reaction, via Russian Machine Never Breaks.
Maybe he was just watching the replay in stunned silence. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
