Capitals Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Chicago Leads 2-0 After One Period

The Chicago Blackhawks had no trouble getting out to a good start at home, as they lead the Washington Capitals 2-0 after one period at the United Center.

The Blackhawks have completely dominated on offense, as they hold a 12-3 advantage in shots.

Andrew Shaw got the scoring started with his eighth goal of the year at the 3:35 mark of the first period. Viktor Stalberg increased the lead to two with his 18th goal of the year at 7:44.

Washington holds a 9-5 advantage in hits, and a 4-2 edge in takeaways. Their ability to cause turnovers would be their best bet at getting back into this game.
