Capitals Vs. Bruins: No Score, But Caps Lose Jason Chimera, Tomas Vokoun

The Washington Capitals have managed to skate to a 0-0 tie against the Boston Bruins after one period of play at the TD Garden in Boston. However, the stalemate has come at a cost as the Caps have lost their starting goaltender and one of their best wingers.

Jason Chimera received a highly questionable five-minute penalty and a game misconduct for a hit from behind on Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid with six minutes to play in the period. During the ensuing power play, Washington starting goaltender Tomas Vokoun appeared to re-aggravate the lower body injury that had made him miss the previous 13 days. Vokoun retreated to the locker room, and backup Michal Neuvirth took over. The Bruins did not score on the five-minute man advantage.
