Jason Chimera received a five minute major penalty and a game misconduct for a hit that he delivered to Bruins player Adam McQuaid in the Capitals win over the Bruins on Thursday. If you missed it, you can see the hit here. The hit wasn't totally clean, but the penalties called on it were certainly questionable at the time. Now the NHL Has confirmed that the hits weren't so terrible, and have elected not to punish Chimera any further.
RT @bmcnally14: No supplemental discipline for #Caps F Jason Chimera, according to an NHL spokesman.

That seems to confirm what we already expected. Chimera probably shouldn't have made that hit, but the punishment he received was much more severe than the crime.
