Bruins Vs. Capitals, 2012 NHL Playoffs Game 7: Matt Hendricks Gives Capitals 1-0 Lead After 20 Minutes

Matt Hendricks tipped a John Carlson point shot past Tim Thomas to give the Washington Capitals a 1-0 over the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins after the first period at TD Garden in Boston.

Hendricks' goal, at 11:23 of the first period, was the first first-period tally scored in the four series games played in Boston.

All told, the Capitals were outshot 10-4 by the Bruins in the first period.

The team that scores the first goal is 5-1 in this series.
