The New York Rangers lead the Washington Capitals 1-0 following the first period of Game 7 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. The winner will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The loan goal of the opening period came rather quickly. Roughly 90 seconds into the start of the series' deciding contest, center Brad Richards found the back of the net with the assist coming from Carl Hagelin and Michael Del Zotto to give New York an early one-goal lead.
Here's a shot of Richards' goal.
Beyond that, however, it's been a pretty even opening 20 minutes, as both the Capitals and Rangers have eight shots on goal, respectively.
