NHL Playoffs 2012 Rangers Vs. Capitals Score Update: Tied 1-1, Headed To Double Overtime

The New York Rangers and Washington Capitals finished up the third period of the game tied at 1-1, heading into overtime. In the overtime period, neither team was able to break the tie and net a goal, but the Caps were close a handful of times. The first shot that nearly went in just went a little wide of the net.

The real killer miss came from a point blank shot by Alex Ovechkin, bouncing off the post.

The puck just happened to bounce off the perfect spot, shooting it back out of the crease instead of into the goal or into the back of the goalie. The Capitals also might be looking for a new goal horn sound guy, as they prematurely sounded the goal horn when there was no goal.
