Marian Gaborik stunned the Washington Capitals with a goal from close range with 5:19 remaining in the third overtime to give the New York Rangers a 2-1 victory in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Wednesday night at Verizon Center.
Gaborik drove to the front of the net to receive a centering pass from Brad Richards and score his second goal of the playoffs.

The win gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. Game 4 is set for Saturday afternoon back at Verizon Center, with puck drop scheduled for shortly after 12:30 p.m.
The Rangers finished the game with 49 shots on goal, while the Capitals recorded 46. Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh led all non-goalies in ice time with 53:17.
