Alex Ovechkin Unlikely To Face Suspension For Hit During Game 4 Vs. Rangers, According To Report

It now seems as though the Washington Capitals will have no added worries when heading back to New York to take on the Rangers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Wednesday. That is because the team will almost certainly have their superstar Alex Ovechkin in the lineup.

After committing a questionable hit in the second period on Rangers' defenseman Dan Girardi, it was wondered by many if Ovechkin would have to miss time due to a suspension. According to Arthur Staple, the New York Islanders beat writer for Newsday, league sources have told him that Ovechkin will not be facing any kind of extra discipline for the play.

Ovechkin was called for a two-minute charging minor on the play.
