Saturday was the final day of the Washington Capitals' Development Camp out at the Kettler Iceplex in Arlington, Va. It was also the first opportunity for newly acquired center Mike Ribeiro to take questions from the Washington media, despite the fact that he was acquired three weeks and two days ago in a draft day trade with the Dallas Stars.
We did know some stuff about Ribeiro before Saturday. For example, we knew that he would wear his preferred number 9 in Washington (It was retired at his previous stops in Montreal and Dallas).
But we didn't know the impression he'd make on new head coach Adam Oates. For that, you've gotta go below the jump.
#Caps coach Adam Oates w the, uh, unexpected quote on new center Mike Ribeiro: "A lot skinnier than I thought he was. Looks like a rapper"

OK, that's a new one.
Fortunately, Neil Greenberg of the Post and ESPN was along to provide some photographic evidence.
In case you missed #Caps Ribeiro presser here is a pic a.k.a. why new head coach Oates thought he was a rapper yfrog.com/hw5l8p
