Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is being courted by reigning Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) champions Dynamo Moscow in the event there is an NHL lockout. The collective bargaining agreement between the NHL owners and the NHL Player's Association is set to expire in September, and negotiations up to this point indicate the league will have its second lockout in eight years.

Dynamo general manager Andrey Safronov said Saturday there would be talks with Ovechkin and also that Leonid Komarov of the Toronto Maple Leafs would return to the Dynamo if there is a lockout.

Ovechkin is no stranger to Dynamo, since that's where he started playing at age 16 before the Capitals drafted him. Ovechkin was also one of 78 NHL players who played in Russia during the last lockout in 2004-05 and he played for Dynamo then, too.
