Because everyone loves talking about new jerseys, and because rebranding is in in the D.C. area, the Washington Nationals have decided to change their jersey colors. There were rumors floating around about some sort of fashion show where they would unveil everything.
↵Now, we know for sure. The team announced the news today, saying that they will hold an "invitation-only" show to show off the new apparel. Here are the details from the press release.
↵↵↵↵↵This first-of-its-kind event at the ballpark will include a pre-show cocktail reception and raffle drawing. Following the fashion show, invited guests will have the opportunity to mingle with players and purchase the new jerseys. The invitation-only affair will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Stars and Stripes Club at Nationals Park.
↵
Ryan Zimmerman, Ivan Rodriguez, Jordan Zimmermann, Tyler Clippard, Drew Storen and Ian Desmond will model the jerseys, and Mike Rizzo is "expected to make an appearance." It all sounds pretty cool. But at the same time, invitation-only seems pretty cruel. Why not make it like Caps Convention and invite fans to experience the whole thing? Are they worried nobody will show up?
