↵In other news, another young player on the Nationals is starring in a postseason league. Danny Espinosa, the second-base prospect that wowed everyone with a spectacular September, hit for the cycle yesterday in a Puerto Rican league game. Federal Baseball has the report.
↵↵↵↵↵The Nats' 23-year-old '08 3rd Round pick led off the bottom of the first with his second Winter League HR in his first at bat to get the Leones out to an early 1-0 lead. In the third, Espinosa tripled, driving in his second run of the night, then scored on a passed ball two outs later. A walk in his third at bat in the fourth inning was followed by a one-out RBI double in the sixth that left the former Long Beach State University infielder a single away from the cycle. With two down in the seventh, Espinosa got the hit he needed, an RBI infield single.
