What Could Be The End Of Elijah Dukes' Very Sad Baseball Career

I'm the type of guy who would never succeed as a baseball general manager because I am disproportionately enamored with potential over production. I'm the kind of guy who would give Elijah Dukes a contract as soon as he became avilable, when the other teams in MLB wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Because of his issues on and off the field, it looks like Dukes' career may now be over, and it's ending in particularly tragic fashion; via Nationals Enquirer.

Dukes was in court on Wednesday because of his failure to pay child support to three different women, totaling $143,000. Dukes says that his baseball career is over and that he would like to get a normal job to try and pay back some of his debt.

I used to laugh at Elijah Dukes' shenanigans because I thought there was no way that he would waste all of his potential, but now that it appears he has done just that, his story is more sad then anything else. I used to root for him when he was a member of the Nationals, but now I'll just be rooting for him to turn his life around.
